Anil Misra is the Chair and Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Florida International University, Miami. He previously served as the Glenn L. Parker-James L. Tyson Professor of Engineering Mechanics at the University of Kansas and Associate Director of the KU Institute for Bioengineering Research. From 1990 to 2007, he was a faculty member at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). His research spans analytical, computational, and experimental micromechanics of granular materials and interdisciplinary work in mechanics and material science. Misra has co-edited books, guest edited journal issues, authored over 350 publications, delivered numerous research presentations, and his work is supported by various funding sources. He has received several honors including the Eugenio Beltrami Senior Scientist Prize and is active in professional societies and editorial leadership roles.

Dr. Seung Jae Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Florida International University. He specializes in computational mechanics at the intersection of structural, geotechnical, and computational engineering. His research focuses on advanced computational methods to understand the complex behavior of discrete systems and materials, leveraging numerical models, theoretical formulations, and high-performance computing. Dr. Lee has been a faculty member at FIU since 2014 and previously worked as a façade designer and engineer in industry. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
